There was heartbreak for Mohamed Salah in the biggest night of his career on Saturday.
Having been instrumental in Liverpool 's charge to the Champions League final, being forced off with an injury after 30 minutes brought about a sad end to Salah's European campaign.

The Egyptian was involved in a controversial tackle with Sergio Ramos during the early exchanges and couldn't recover from the fall.
It was initially suspected that Salah had dislocated his shoulder and could even miss out on the World Cup in Russia this summer.

However, recent updates suggest Salah could return in time and the man himself produced an update on Twitter on Monday.

The 25-year-old penned: "It was a very tough night, but I'm a fighter. Despite the odds, I'm confident that I'll be in Russia to make you all proud. Your love and support will give me the strength I need."
Emotional stuff indeed and the events of that fateful night in Kiev have been made all the more clearer by Liverpool physio Ruben Pons in an interview with Marca.
Involved in the initial treatment of Salah and the events in the dressing room, Pons told the Spanish publication exactly what happened and it's sad to hear.
Pons explained: "We knew that it was something serious as soon as [Salah] fell on the ground because he never complains, we were afraid of the worst.
"We were watching the game, looking at social networks and the security was telling us the result, Madrid has scored, we equalised.

"When we came back, the game was over, the whole team had changed and prepared for riding the team bus, we helped him change because he could not do it alone and we went to the airport."
Salah was so anxious that he didn't want to watch the game, instead relying on social media and stadium security guards to keep posted.

The Mirror noted : 'In fact, he remained so wired as the match continued without him that he was unable to watch, and was kept up to date on the score by a member of the security team.'

You've really got to feel for Salah.
After such a brilliant season, nobody wanted it to end the way it did for him.
His nervousness was to such an extent that he just couldn't bare watching the match, using alternative methods to keep posted.
The footballing world has its fingers crossed that Salah will return to fitness for the World Cup.

And while the events of Saturday may cost him his Ballon d'Or claim, his remarkable achievements of this season shouldn't be forgotten or underplayed.
He's a great player and a great role model.
