Privacy is what most people need but sadly, some of the pry friends (nosey) can't let them have it. Have you ever assumed that you can definitely hide files (App, Movies, Pictures, Documents etc) in your Android file manager without the help of any third-party app?, Certainly no - right? But it is possible and how to make it possible is what most people don't know.

However, the issue of hiding your files is a great idea using a third-party app but don't you think that it accumulates space in your phone more than you can ever imagine (first it'll consume your RAM, consume internal/external storage including the app data which will be stored as a hidden folder in your phone or SD card). Perhaps, that could be some of the reasons why People don't hide app (to save storage).

Well, I'm not saying that hiding your files using app is not good, I'm just trying to recommend you a better way to do that without installing any third-party app. Though there are other third-party apps which are good, more secure and consumes less data space but that I will include at the end of this write-up. Without further ado, let's proceed on how to hide files (App, Documents, Pictures, Videos etc) without using any third-party app. However, this can also be termed how to create Hidden folders in file manager.

How To Create Hidden Folders In File Manager:
Perhaps, this should be a better title of this tutorial but still yet, how to hide files without making use of third-party app can still be used but in the other aspect of the tutorial. To create a hidden folder in file manager is not a difficult task but the problem is that people never have in mind on how to do it. Anyways, I'm going to show tutor you on how you can do that, so let's get started.
  • First and foremost, launch your file manager app (it could be system file manager or downloaded file manager).
  • Head to your SD card or device storage (anywhere you want to create the hidden folder) and create a folder name you want by putting DOT at the beginning of the folder, then save. Check the before example:
  • .Android

Now you've successfully created a hidden folder in your file manager, I'm sure you've already know what to do to get your files hidden but I'd still like to help out so as to make this tutorial complete (I can't just leave you at the middle of the sea). So I presume I should continue with what the remaining one aspect which is how to hide your files without using any third-party app.

How To Hide File Without Using Any Third-party App:
In continuation of the first tutorial (How to create hidden folder in file manager), I'll like to complete it by instructing you on how to hide files using the hidden folder you have created…
  • The first thing you must do is to show hidden folders, how can you do that, it's simple - just goto your File Manager =>Tap on Option Key =>Select show hidden folders. To hide it so that no one can see your hidden files, simply follow the same procedure but this time around, you have to click on Hide Hidden Folders.
  • Now you have to move the files you don't want anyone to see inside the hidden folder which you've created then hide the folder by clicking on Hide Hidden Folders.
Aww, that's it, with the above procedures you've successfully created hidden folders in your file manager as we as how to hide files (App, Documents, Pictures, Videos etc) without using any third-party app. However, like I said earlier (in paragraph 3) which says that I'll still include some other third-party apps which are good, more secure and consumes less data space. However, I'll make it snappy so that some of you won't get bored.

Below will be some of the third-party app which can enhance your security when hiding files.

AppLock is one of the best file locker I've come across so far (in fact, I'm still using it even though I found out about how to create hidden folders), this app comes with tons of features, be it file hiding, Fingerprint scanning and looking of apps including system apps (Mobile data, WiFi, Bluetooth, Hotspot, Phone call, Message App etc are also included). However, it has much security than you can ever imagine. This app lock can be hidden from the app drawer (will not see the app installed in your phone) and this feature also helps the security to be more stronger. Aside that there's another app that contains about 130kb of data which is in Support of high standard security for this app lock "Advanced Protection". This app also includes Scatter Button features in it so as to maintain your security even if there's a pry looking at the way your finger goes when unlocking your files.

Like I said earlier, I won't like to waste so much of your time, but to know more about this app then you need to download it, read the description from the Google play store and you can now testify.

Rounding Up:
Security now got better, privacy begins, lo and behold you can now create hidden folders with the above procedures.
